In the "THE CRUELTIES OF THE SPANIARDS COMMITTED IN AMERICA", after Spaniards explored to America, they started to torture the Native Americans. They cut off Indians hands and ripped up those pregnant womens' bellies, tore them alive in pirces. Also they killed a lot animals for no reason, " The Spaniards first assaulted the innocent Sheep." From the reading" WHY DID CORTES WIN?", when Spaniards tried to take over the America, they had great military technology. They fought with weapons of irons and steel against the Mexica's stone, wood, and copper. They also charged on horseback against Mexican warriors on foot. To the Spaniards, wasr meant destorying the enemy's ability to flight. For thier knowledge, it was a hornor to fight for the God or king. Religion which was Christianity, was as strong power that suported them to fight. Some of them believe if they go fight, they would go heaven after death or get rich. Also the disease played a large role at least that weakened the Mexica, such as smallpox and meales. Those were the factors weakened the Mexica's resistance. Document 1 " Montecino's 1511 Sermon" from the " JUSTIFYING CONQUEST", a Diminican friar named Anton Montecino delievered a blastering sermon that astonished the Spaniards gathered in the church in Santo Domingo, headquarters if the Spanish Caribbean in 1511. He wrote " Your Greed for gold is blind. Your pride, your lust, your anger, your envy, your sloth, all blind..." He also talked about why treating others so bad when they did not do anything to harm you, like "Are you not under God's command to love them as you love yourselves? Are you out of your soul, out of your minds? Yes. And that will bring you to damnation." In the Docunebt 2 " The Requerimiento", The king had his advisers prepare the Requerimiento. The Requerimiento was about Indians who failed to welcome Spanish conquest and all its blessings deserved to die. All because the the religion, the king and church had the highest power. They shall take your wives and children and make them as slaves, also they can command you to do anything for them. Those soliers were told to fight and win for the God and king.

In my view, I am agree with what Anton Montecino wrote to the Spaniards. It was a shame to fight and kill just for your own happiness. Especially, I have the same feelings of what he wrote, "Your Greed for gold is blind. Your pride, your lust, your anger, your envy, your sloth, all blind...", and "Are you not under God's command to love them as you love yourselves? Are you out of your soul, out of your minds? Yes. And that will bring you to damnation." It really does not make any sentences that people were told by God to kill people and let king or church do anything they wanted. And then, I am disagree with what Spaniards did to Indians when they explored America. I mean how could they killed and tortued Indians for no reasons. And population of buffalo and other animals decresed a lot just because they killed it for fun and eat. And what kind of good God will make king and church to take away your family from you, and risk your lives for their own goods. I do not really know what can I do to make them change their minds at that time. I am just hoping that some of them were regreted of what they did.

There are many types of writing, and the one I like is poetry. Of course, I know I can not really create a poem with those fancy words in my level of English. But I can try my best to express myslef and what i am trying to describe. To start from the beginning of the poem, i would set up the background first and then start to describe the object or event. For example, to describe the weather or the environment around me, just like a introduction to a body paragraph on an eassy. And then i would put some words that can describe my emotion and what happened in the poem. To close up the poem, I can put some thing that I wish or hope to happen instead of what really happened at end. So these are the steps I use to write my poems at most of the time. And these did help me sometime when I am stuck. To tell the truth, most of the I created were actually written in Mandarin. And it only becuase i do get more ideas when i write in my language.

After reading this packet, I think the way authors defined writing is that they want you to express yourself on writing but also consider others ideas. As you can see, there are many examples in this reading that tell you how to make others to get interesting in your writing and to hear your voice. Sometimes a good piece of writing includs other peoples' comments around the environment you live in, not just your own opinions. To me, writing is a way to express myself and creat things from your imagination. And it also a way to help you communicate with others and tell how you feel.
